“Raw”
“Dynamic” “True Artist”
… are
perfect descriptions of the talent we call Jazmyn. Jazmyn, aka Jaz,
is a singer, writer, songwriter, performer, producer and director.
While participating in various performing arts programs growing up, her
passion for music and creative arts developed at a young age and has
blossomed into a force to be recognized. “Singing and performing
has always been the core of my spirit. It’s hard to explain when
you’re a child…but I knew the type of person I was created to be.
To know your path in life that early is an exciting feeling. Music has
been something I’ve always held close. I couldn’t shake it if I
wanted to.”
As Jazmyn grew her
art and talent grew with her. Jaz has become an outstanding performer.
She has performed before various audiences at the Kennedy Center, night
clubs from the District of Columbia to New York, community sponsored
events to high profile political events such as President Obama’s
inaugural. "Artistry, in my opinion, cannot be judged or categorized.
Creativity is simply an expression to be embraced by its intended
audience. One’s ability to create is equal to one’s right to
individually exist.” Jazmyn describes herself as a voice which explores
life through many faces. “Joy, inspiration, sensuality, even borderline
insanity comes to mind…My songwriting is like reading a novel.
Different chapters; even pages reveal a new twist and take on life or at
least one’s perception of it. My songs are visual…the mind follows what
the ear receives. It is a world I have claimed the keeper of. It has
become my own existence.”
Jazmyn has chosen
to share her mind and her memoirs with the world at large through her
music. Her debut project Unpredictable is a revelation of
different tales of experiences through one’s self as well as
relationships with others. She offers playful, inspiring, serious, and
message oriented storytelling. Her musical influences consist of
diverse elements of Pop, Rock, R&B, HipHop, and Classical
instrumentation. “I refuse to be identified with only one form of
music. When you are a child of music you are open to every aspect of it.
There are no rules. This project is born from a union of sounds and
emotions. A journey if you will…that is always evolving…”
Welcome to the
revolution…
